What UK Law Firm Websites Are Actually Built From

Every page crawled during the audit was classified into a page type by the LegalVIS crawl system. Left-hand figures count total pages of each type across all firms combined; right-hand figures count how many firms have at least one page of that type, to a maximum of 335.

Classification is based on page structure, URL patterns and on-page signals. Pages that could not be confidently classified are excluded from type-level totals.

Site structure fundamentals that carry over into AI search.

The type behind insight and case study content.

Services and Insights dominate. Trust and Case Study pages are the rarest.

The content most valuable for AI systems is the content least likely to exist

11,879 pages across 335 firms · Left: total pages per type · Right: firms with at least one page

Services, Insights and People pages are near-universal, but Trust pages exist in only 71 firms and Case Study pages in just 29.

Every firm has a services page. Fewer than one in ten has a dedicated case study section.

This structural gap directly limits how well AI systems can assess and recommend these firms.

Highlighted: Trust & Case Study, most valuable for AI visibility

Structured client outcomes with the matter type, jurisdiction and result, each on its own indexable page.

Accreditations, regulator identifiers, memberships, awards and review sources gathered in one machine-readable place.

Named expertise, qualifications and matter experience rather than a photograph and a phone number.

Practice area pages that answer questions

The specific questions clients ask an AI, answered on the page rather than implied by a service list.

Page count is not the goal. A firm with 40 well-structured, distinct pages will out-perform a firm with 400 near-duplicate service variations.
